In-Person CE Courses

The Kois Center offers a comprehensive curriculum organized by course levels to guide participants through their educational journey. The course numbers indicate the level and duration of each course, making it easy for dentists to plan their learning path.

100 Level Courses (No Prerequisites)

These foundational courses can be taken in any order, but the suggested sequence enhances learning:

  • 103: Treatment Planning (3 days) – Empowers participants with confidence in diagnosis and treatment planning through a comprehensive examination and understanding of risk factors.
  • 153: Functional Occlusion (3 days) – Provides a practical understanding of the masticatory system, incorporating laboratory and patient management techniques.
  • 165: Combined Course (6 days) – A combination of Treatment Planning and Functional Occlusion, covering all the essential topics in an extended format.
  • 173: Managing the Restorative/Periodontal Interface (3 days) – Focuses on predictable periodontal tissue management and achieving successful restorative outcomes.

200 Level Courses (Prerequisites Required)

These courses build on the foundational knowledge and require the completion of at least two 100 level courses:

  • 255: Biomechanics (5 days) – Requires 103 and 153 or 165. Covers caries detection, removal, prevention, and principles for tooth preparation and design.
  • 275: Implants Fixed & Removable (5 days) – Requires 103 and 153 or 165 and 173. Guides participants through comprehensive implant-based restorative treatments.

300 Level Courses (Advanced Learning)

These advanced courses require completion of at least two 100 level courses and recommend completing all 200 level courses:

  • 303: Advanced Functional Occlusion (3 days) – Requires 103 and 153 or 165. Focuses on complex restorative management and TMJ disorders.

400 Level Courses (Comprehensive Integration)

Completion of all 100, 200, and 300 level courses is required:

  • 403: Advanced Treatment Planning (3 days) – Requires 103, 153 or 165, 173, 255, 275, and 303. This course integrates all learned concepts and enhances practical understanding through interactive case management.

500 Level Courses (Graduate Level)

These courses are for graduates or recognized specialists:

  • 503: Annual Symposium – An exclusive event for graduates to network, share knowledge, and learn about the latest updates in the curriculum.

Each course typically runs from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with lunch provided daily at Restaurant Birch featuring award-winning Executive Chef Jeffrey Kessenich.
