Butte-Sierra District Dental Society (BSDDS)

Mission and Purpose

Mission: The Butte-Sierra District Dental Society’s mission is to be the recognized source for serving the needs of the local dental community and promoting dentistry for the benefit of public health.

BSDDS is a professional association affiliated with the California Dental Association (CDA) and American Dental Association (ADA).

Geographic Coverage

BSDDS serves dentists and the public in six Northern California counties:

• Butte
• Colusa
• Nevada
• Sierra
• Sutter
• Yuba

Membership

Eligibility: Dentists practicing in any of the six counties listed above are eligible for BSDDS membership, which includes automatic membership in the CDA and ADA through the tripartite system.

Programs and Services

1. Continuing Education (CE)

BSDDS offers regular CE classes and events to help members fulfill licensure requirements and remain current in dental advancements.

Held for society business, networking, and professional learning.

3. Public Resources and Outreach

• Public “Find a Dentist” directory
• Low-cost dental clinic information for underserved communities
• Collaborations with local health clinics and public health entities

Community Impact

BSDDS promotes public health and oral wellness through education, outreach, and access to care initiatives.

• AMPLA Health Chico Dental
• Feather River Dental Clinic
• Northern Valley Indian Health
• And others serving Medi-Cal and uninsured patients
