Dental CE Requirements for Minnesota Dental Professionals
Basic Requirements
Dentists & Dental Therapists:
- Renewal Cycle: Biennial (every 2 years)
- Required Hours: 50 hours
- CPR Certification: Required, must be continuously maintained
- Minimum Classroom Hours: No specific requirement
- Specific Required Topics:
- Infection control course every renewal cycle
- Minimum of 2 courses in specific areas like recordkeeping, ethics, communication, etc.
Dental Hygienists & Licensed Dental Assistants:

Unique Information
Opioid Training:
- One-time requirement for dentists who prescribe controlled substances
